Fanatec Podium DD Wheelbase – The New King of Direct Drive Racing

Breaking news: Fanatec has done it again.
Finally, after a long wait, the a new wheel base is out. And, it made it worth waiting.
The brand that redefined realism in sim racing, and went though a couple of complicated years until the takeover of Corsair, just dropped its next flagship wheel base: the Fanatec Podium DD Wheelbase.

Designed to replace the legendary Podium DD2 Wheel Base, this beast pushes direct drive technology to the next level. Finally!
Here some high-level specs:
- Torque: 25Nm (consistent) with a peak of 33Nm, putting it at the top of the market
- Reinforced termal management and electronics (with a full body made of alluminium)
- A custom motor made in Germany runs smoother and more efficiently, with less vibration or roughness.
- FullForce technology adds tiny, fast vibrations to make the driving feel more realistic and detailed.
And last, but very important, a 10Cm Shaft extension included, that allows (optionally) to place the base ideally behind the monitor or anyway give you major flexibility in mounting it to your cockpit and setup.
When will it be available? This is not 100% clear. The Podium Pedals, that are part of the same announcement, will be available from the first quarter of 2026, but this is not specified when it comes to the Base - we imagine it will be similar though.
[just released- Further details to follow]

What is the price?
This was not announced yet but it will probably be at the high-level of the current DD2, so probably 1500-2000€/$
