Best PS5 Sim Racing Wheels 2023 Edition

Many of us who play in PlayStation system usually don’t have many racing wheels options in the market, this may sound weird, but as soon as you start looking for models, you realize that most of the racing wheels and wheel bases have a better compatibility with PC and even Xbox systems.

But those are not bad news for PlayStation users, most popular brands keeps developing compatible and licensed hardware to take all the advantage of the PS5 power and exclusive titles. And even the products that already exists in the market are good and serious options to build a setup powered by PlayStation consoles.

1. Fanatec Gran Turismo DD Pro (5 or 8 Nm)

Fanatec Gran Turismo DD Pro (5 or 8 Nm)

Let’s start with what we believe it is the best wheel for PlayStation on the market right now: the Gran Turismo DD Pro ! The DD Pro is a great option from Fanatec, who brings a full PS4 and PS5 compatible racing wheel, but can also be used on PC and Xbox.
You can opt between a 5Nm option or 8Nm. 5Nm is the value of the maximum torque, the strenght produced by the force feedback motor: the higher the value the higher the strenght that your base can produce.

The Gran Turismo DD Pro 8 Nm is officially licensed by Gran Turismo and compatible with PlayStation®5 consoles and PlayStation®4 consoles. It’s got the same high-resolution Hall-position-sensor that you’ll find on the Podium Series, so it’s as accurate as can be.

Using basically the same technology as CSL DD wheel base, which brought Direct drive to a much wider audience of sim racers than before, this is the best compromise in terms of price quality in our opinion.
Most users don’t need more than 8Nm anyway, as most racing cars (formula 1 even) have power steering nowadays.

The tactile rubber grip with blue center stripe and compact 280 mm diameter make it easy to hold onto, so you’ll have smooth steering with crisp response every time. The white OLED display will show your speed, gear indicators, and other information, so you can focus on the road ahead.

There is a 5-way directional stick makes menu navigation simple—just press in any direction to bring up what you want to see. And four additional 5-way directional sticks let you quickly switch between different menus without having to take your hands off the wheel! You’ll also find 11 buttons optimized for the PlayStation® interface—everything from start/stop to drive select are at your fingertips.

Our opinion…

As users of PlayStation, we know we have a good hardware with many exclusive titles to take advantage of the console. Look for a racing wheel that is not only compatible with PlayStation, but even with other platforms would be the wiser idea, due to we never know when we will to connect the racing wheel to a PC, or suddenly you would like to play in other platform.

Our favorite option from the list is the Fanatec Gran Turismo DD 8Nm a great option due to the Direct Drive technology, the decent price, and its quality that makes the most of your simulation game.. Besides, the Gran Turismo DD bundle is compatible with other platforms, which is something we could take advantage of.

If you don’t want to spend that amount of money on racing hardware, we would choose the Thrustmaster T300RS GT Edition, which in our opinion is the best you can acquire for the price and still have a correct amount of force feedback even if it is not Direct Drive technology.

If instead you want to get the best available in the market, you could opt for the Pro version of the Gran Turismo DD 8Nm bundle, that offers 3 pedals instead of two, and a loadcell powered brake that will make your breaking much more precise
