Fanatec ClubSport v3 Pedals were released in 2015. 10 Years ago! Is it time for an upgrade? Maybe a V4?
Sim racers are really a passionate bunch of people. You can’t browse through forums and websites without seeing endless discussions and theories about what Fanatec might release next, especially when it comes to their legendary ClubSport pedal lineup. The ClubSport Pedals V3 have been the go-to choice for serious sim racers for years now, thanks to their solid build quality and clever features. But everyone’s starting to wonder: Is it finally time for the ClubSport Fanatec Pedals V4?
Fanatec has been through some turbolent times in the last few years, but now with the ownership of Corsair the company has found a new strong backer that can continue the legacy of one of the top brands in Sim Racing.
The V3 pedals, with their groundbreaking Hall Effect sensors, customizable brake performance kit, and modular design, set a new standard when they launched.
But the competition has intensified significantly, with companies like Heusinkveld, VRS, Moza, and Simucube pushing the boundaries of pedal technology.

What Could We Expect from Potential ClubSport Pedals V4?
In a recent interview the CEO of Corsair said they want to both focus on the “cheaper” tier of the market (below 500$) and compete with mass-market brands like Thrustmaster and Logitech, but still keep the high-end products as a core of their product focus. So, possibly, we are talking about more than one product (let’s imagine they keep the same naming as ClubSport V4 and CSL V4 pedals?)
The biggest upgrade would probably be better load cell technology. Fanatec might use improved sensors that can detect even smaller changes in pressure and handle stronger forces. The coolest part? You could probably adjust how the pedals feel through software while you’re racing. Think about pedals that automatically change their stiffness depending on whether you’re driving a Formula 1 car or a heavy truck.
Another exciting feature could be haptic feedback built right into the pedals. This means you’d actually feel things like ABS kicking in, your brake pads getting hot, or even bumps in the road through your feet. It would be like having force feedback, but for your pedals instead of just your steering wheel.
Fanatec would likely use better materials too - maybe carbon fiber to make the pedals lighter but just as strong, or special materials that don’t get as hot during long racing sessions. They might also make the pedals even more modular, so you could easily swap out sensors, change the pedal faces, or add new mounting options without buying a whole new set.
On the software side, the pedals might learn how you drive and automatically adjust themselves to match your style. Plus, they could give you detailed data about your braking performance to help you get faster lap times
Brand Partnerships
Fanatec is well known for their partnership with automotive brands and racing leagues - Bmw, Porsche, Formula 1, Gran Turismo, and many more. Should we expect some customised editions in the new pedals (possibly the V4?)
Reality Check
Of course, this is all speculation at this point. Fanatec hasn’t announced any official plans for ClubSport Pedals V4, nor have they hinted at a timeline for such a release. The V3 pedals continue to receive firmware updates and remain highly competitive in today’s market.
Stay tuned to our coverage for any official announcements from Fanatec. Until then, keep pushing those brake pedals to their limits and dreaming of what the future might hold!
